Scholarship Presentation Ceremony of
Nishshabd Angeekar Welfare Association
(NAWA Scholarship Ceremony)
was held on 28th July, 2011 from 1-30 PM onwards at
Conference Hall of Kothari Medical Centre, Kolkata. After the
welcome address by Dr. Mrinal Kanti Das, Consultant Cardiologist
and General Secretary, Nishshabd Angeekar Welfare Association,
Dr. M.S.Ghosh , Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and
President addressed the gathering.
on 10th June, 2009, post-AILA, by a group of eminent
doctors of the city to start with, seeing the plight of the AILA-devastated
people. Many other professionals and kind-hearted persons joined
the force with the single aim of ‘offering service to the people
at distress and bettering their lives’. The members facing
all odds to work in remote villages in the Sundarbans braved to
go to the people helped them with medicines, food, clothes etc.
After regularly organizing health camps and helping the students
in the locality as per their capacity, NAWA planned to extend
their activities by creating
“NAWA EDUCATION FUND”
contributed by members and offered NAWA Scholarship to
7 (seven )students on their 2nd Foundation Day
ceremony and planned to disburse more scholarships (17
more) amongst the under-privileged students of different
districts of West Bengal.
On 7th july 2011 3 (Three)students
and today(28/07/2011) 14 fourteen students
from various districts of West Bengal like Purulia, Malda,
Bankura, Bardhaman, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, North 24
Parganas, Howrah & Nadia along with their parents and
relatives attended the ceremony. They were awarded NAWA
scholarships ( Rs. 1000/- month to Class XI and graduate course
students and Rs 2000/- to an Engineering student),
along with admission fees, and the books.
Dr. Dipak Roychoudhury, Orthopaedic Sugeon and Dr V. Lakshman,
General & Laparoscopic Surgeon advised the students about
their primary responsibility of studying and working hard
to attain respectable positions in life.
The ceremony ended with vote of thanks to all concerned
for doing good to people who needs the help most.
